Mission:
The Tim Russert Department of Communication and Theatre Arts educates students to become critical thinkers trained in advocacy and effective communicators able to integrate theory and ethical principles in their professions while fostering awareness of diverse cultures and developing communication styles and technologies.
Minor: Entrepreneurship
Entrepreneurship starts with idea development and creativity and helps you develop critical-thinking skills that will help you be more effective in either for-profit or nonprofit enterprises. Participation in the minor will bring you into contact with a team that wants to see you develop your skills as an entrepreneur, while complementing the work in your major.

The John Carroll program gained national recognition as U.S. News and World Report ranked it in the “top 25″ programs in the United States.
John Carroll’s entrepreneurship program has been recognized by Bloomberg Businessweek as the 18th best program in the nation and the best undergraduate entrepreneurship program in Ohio. This marks the second consecutive year JCU has made the list; the program rocketed from 43rd in the nation last year.

JCU Entrepreneurship Immersion Week
The JCU Entrepreneurship Immersion Week (EIW) team took the bronze at the 2012 Entrepreneurship Education Consortium Immersion Week, which took place August 5-10, 2012, on the campus of Case Western Reserve University.
During the week, the principle instructors from the entrepreneurship programs of the Entrepreneurship Education Consortium (EEC), an organization of nine Northeast Ohio colleges and universities with entrepreneurship centers, taught a series of topics on entrepreneurship, including Market Feasibility Analysis, Funding Your Venture, Leadership and Building Your Team, and Innovation and Brainstorming.
